It’s Not All Mary Poppins

See that post a couple down? Delightful pictures of small children running delightedly through the park? Running in shirts and runners, no jackets or boots, through the sunny spring day?

Well, this morning it’s snowing.

Because that’s what we call spring in this city.

  1. That happens here too. But I have high hopes that our snows are finally over. Our winters probably just don’t continue for as long as yours do.

  5. Haley – want some of our snow? you can have it. What was a brownish green field outside my office window is now a patch of white, YUCK.

  6. yeah – I turned all the heating off last week, put away hats, gloves & winter coats, and found summer jackets, fleeces and clothes – then yesterday reversed all of the above:-(

brrr! this is what we call spring in this country too.

    oh, and summer

come to think of it, autumn is fairly changeable.

And there’s no real guarentee winter will be cold…….

maybe thats why we love talking about the weather so much:-)

  7. Sounds like weather here just a bit ago! I was so happy to see the spring flowers—then they were covered with the white stuff!
    We’ve moved to rain now…
Hope the sunshine returns to you soon!!!

  10. I do hope the serious spring arrives there soon. It has been pretty great here for a while.. and life with little ones seems 10x saner in better weather.

We have an informal parents and tots drop in at the park between 4 and 6 every night and it is, for the most part, still bright and lovely. The kids — I swear — are sleeping better and thus so are we all. Am I crazy, children are easier to handle in good weather?

Sorry if I am being all westcoast annoying but that makes us even on the day, my friend. hugs.

  11. mo-wo: You have no email listed, and I didn’t want to sidetrack your comments, but it’s okay to sidetrack my own – assuming you come back and check!

In response to the above and its reference, I thought this was very funny. Hoping you share the laughing-at-myself humour, and that I’m not annoying you (again!), check this out.
