Hedging His Bets
Arthur holds up his drawing, a mass of bright scribbles, criss-crossed and brilliant.
“Wow. Look at all those colours, Arthur!”
“Yes. Does it look like a rainbow?”
“Is that what it’s supposed to be?”
“If it looks like one, I think maybe yes.”
It looks like a rainbow to me – he’s got all the colours, red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple- who says that they have to be in a perfect arch across the sky? Do you know how many preschoolers don’t know what colours belong in a rainbow, at least in this neighbourhood? Way too many! But, Arthur seems to have it down!

Maybe this is the start of a new modern movement in art! At least he is adaptable to what his art looks like!!! π

I love the descriptions of drawings. They seem s so random…
It’s ineresting that now if we draw a shape, then ask her to add features like eyes, feet, etc., they don’t look like those things yet, but they go in roughly the right places!
