It’s Not All Mary Poppins

Shades of Hannibal

Biting.

Seen it before, deal with it, see it no more. I’ve been through this loop any number of times.

This is a new group of kids. And we have developed a biter. Timmy. He gnawed up poor little Emily’s arm the other day when they were playing behind the couch.

Timmy is no longer allowed to play behind the couch.

The biting doesn’t particularly bother me. We can deal with biting. I’m keeping a sharp eye on the boy, and so far he hasn’t managed to make dental contact with any of the others since poor Emily. Not to say he hasn’t tried, mind you, but we’re making behavioural headway, and even the attempts are diminishing in frequency.

Nope, the biting in and of itself is not earth-shattering. No, it’s Timmy. You see, the the thing is… before he bites?

He licks his lips.

Eeewwww….

  7. Better than licking them AFTER biting a chunk out of sombody:-)

    Welcome back.

LMD has taken to biting LMB. It very exasperating – LMB is twice her size, I haven’t been as vigilent as necesssary with this – obviously – as LMD ahs managed a fair few more that the one bite Timmy has got away with.

  8. Gah! How creepy. Perhaps he needs some lip balm? And a rawhide?

Does this mean you are back in business now?

  10. Z: Not sure – he’s never bitten me. Judging by wee Emily’s arm, not too sharp: he didn’t break the skin.

JugglingMother: After the first incident, I HAVE to be vigilant. By the time, alerted by the screams emanating from behind the couch, I managed to get to the tots, the poor child had three separate bite rings on her. When I said “gnawing”, I wasn’t exaggerating by much! Try explaining THAT to a parent… Ugh.

Kittenpie: I hope I’m back in business! This was done on my old laptop – I’ve discovered a good slap to the surface of it gets me another few minutes of unwavering monitor time. So I’m sitting her happily abusing my computer. My new laptop – THANK YOU, HALEY!! – should be arriving tomorrow.
