Unbound
Remember this? My street, yesterday morning? When the machines had NOT come?
But hark! Something has captured the tots’ attention! Could it be….???
Yes! Same vista, seven hours after the first picture. (Two hours after the machines arrived.)
Ladies and gentlemen, we have STREET. (And SIDEWALKS!!)
THAT is AMAZING!
I think I would have been fascinated and spellbound staring out the window, too.
I was watching, too, for much of it. Most of the fellows in the machines saw us, and waved at the kids. Very cute!
Cool Machine!
Which one? And welcome back, stranger!! (Though I guess you could say the same to me…)
My lord where are they putting all that snow? As much snow as y’all have had this winter, it will make a small lake when it melts.
That’s a good question! Some of it used to go to a large rocky field west of downtown and toward the river, but they’ve recently built a new museum down there, so I doubt it’s being used for snow any more. I have no idea where it goes.
I guess you can’t just plow it, can you. That would push it all up on the sides of the street. Do they haul it off to somewhere? A big furnace someplace?
You didn’t follow the link in yesterday’s post, did you? You really should. (Today it’s the “the machines” link.) Yes, they haul it off, but when they get there they just pile it in heaps. No furnace. The warmer temperatures take care of it, with far less expense than a furnace would.
Yay!!! I was wondering if they had come today.
Where my husband works (New York City) they heap it into trucks and haul it down to the river. But it’s much less snow then where you are :o)
lol, we have warm spring sunshine today! Daffodils are everywhere and we took the dogs for a long walk, wonderful apart from the teenage angst going on but I’m not dwelling on it (trys to unclench teeth…)
Wow, what a difference. (sigh) I wish we had a sidewalk, that way maybe the city would come and clear our street. As it is, we didn’t even get garbage pick up last week.
Oh, and the city want us to pay a $50 dollar levy for snow removal. (I’m thinking July…July…July)
Can’t get over all the snow, ugh. The inconvenience, the cold. I’d be glued to the window too! Sending you warm spring wishes.
[…] the city sends out ALL THE TRUCKS! (So that we can go from the picture in that previous link to this. […]
